Is the suggested age a strict requirement, or can younger people still participate?
The suggested age is just that—suggested! While it can serve as a guideline, younger participants can certainly take part with some assistance. Everyone is different, so it’s important to consider individual abilities rather than strictly adhering to the age recommendation! PS our kits are fun for adults too!!
Don’t be deterred by the age suggestion—if it looks like fun, go for it and give it a try!
How long does it take plaster to dry?
If it’s sunny outside, a couple of hours should do the trick. Make sure to flip and rotate pieces every once in a while. If you leave your pieces inside, it can take around 24 hours to dry thoroughly.
Can I paint wet plaster?
No. Wait until the plaster is completely dry to paint unless you want a completely chaotic creation.
Do I need to plaster all of the pieces?
No! We highly recommend plastering all recycled plastic foam pieces, but wooden pieces do not need to be plastered if you don’t want to. Wood pieces may take 2–3 coats of paint to cover fully.
Does the paint stain clothing?
Dress for a mess! All of our paint is non-toxic water-based paint, but it is high-pigment and can stain clothing. Always protect your work surface too!
What happens if I make a plaster disaster?
Use a damp cloth to wipe up any plaster mess before it dries and hardens. Make sure to wipe off any plaster from your bot buddy’s wheels so that they can still roll in style.
What do I do with my plaster water?
Do NOT put your plaster water down the drain. Please don’t do it! Pour it in the trash, and be sure to recycle your plaster cup!
